Flow Meter

A flow meter is a device used to measure the rate of flow of a liquid or gas, in terms of either volume or mass. It may also be referred to by other names, such as flow gauge, flow indicator, or flow rate sensor, depending on the industry and application.

Flow meters can measure various parameters such as volume, speed, mass, and density, and can report additional information like mass flow, absolute pressure, differential pressure, viscosity, and temperature. The purpose of flow meters is to improve the precision and accuracy of fluid measurement, leading to increased efficiency and productivity in industrial processes. They are designed to be low maintenance, easy to use, and durable, making them a cost-effective investment.

Clamp On Ultrasonic Flow Meter

Clamp on ultrasonic flow meter is a type of flow meter that uses sound waves to measure the flow of water inside a pipe. It uses two transducers (a device that converts physical information, in this case, sound waves, into an electrical signal and vice versa).

The transducers will transmit signal to each other through the pipe wall. The signal that is moving with the flow will travel faster and the one that is moving against the flow will travel slower. The signal measures the average velocity across the flow, rather than a single point, making it very accurate. The usage of both upstream and downstream signal is to calculate the velocity of the fluid.

Electromagnetic Flow Meter

Electromagnetic flow meters, also known as magnetic flow meters, utilize electrodes to measure water flow. These electrodes are placed on opposite sides of the surface through which liquid flows, and create a magnetic field. As water flows through the magnetic field, the voltage generated is detected by the meter, enabling accurate measurement of flow rates.

It has low maintenance requirements because it does not contain mechanical parts that are prone to failure. Additionally, there is no interference in the flow because it flows through the meter without obstruction. As a result, electromagnetic flow meters provide a highly accurate and reliable means of measuring water flow.
